Jonardan Glass was launched in 2016 by Julie Herd, a glass artist who likes to create contemporary unique pieces which are both functional and beautiful to look at.
Julie is inspired by the wonderful reflections and colours created by glass and still loves the excitement of opening the kiln to see what the latest piece looks like.Learn About Our Products
All our items are designed and individually handmade in our home studios in Hertfordshire.
Every piece is absolutely unique and individual – no two items are identical, even those items with the same design will have very minute differences, and nothing is mass produced.
This means that whatever piece you own you have the only one like it in the world!
Each item will start off as a flat piece of glass which is then cut to the required shape and then layered with additional glass. This is then fused together by firing in a glass kiln up to 1400˚ F for an average of 14 hours.
Pieces can require firing up to four times depending on the design. Finally the item is shaped by either slumping into a mould or draping over a mould to achieve the desired result.
Please take a look at our gallery for a selection of our pieces, should you like one of the designs and are interested in purchasing an item or like the design, but would like it in a different colour, then please get in touch.
New items are being created all the time plus we will be adding an online shop in the near future so please come back and visit us again soon.Gallery Contact Us
